1st General Meet-up and Plein Air at the Pinto Art Museum

10 January 2015

What started as a group discussion in the IWS Philippines Learning Forum platform on  achieving luminosity in watercolor resulted in a plein air meetup.  Up til this moment, we see ourselves only as an online group.  Meeting fellow artists face to face made the group more real. The actual meeting not only strengthened our conviction to bring about  another golden age for watercolor art in the Philippines, we met and were able to recruit other known watercolor artists with the result that after the Pinto Plein air activity, our membership of professional artists grew exponentially as more artist took note and word spread about IWS Philippines.  This also marks the beginning of the yearly local festival coined as “Tampisaw” a term meaning to immerse oneself in / to play in water.  With plans of incorporating exhibits, plein air, workshops, and extending the run to several days, next year’s IWS Philippines’ Tampisaw promises to be an exciting one and will be open to the public.
